The LifeGuard hit the market in 2012 and the QuadGuard in 2019, with both devices helping save lives and prevent serious injury.

These products are the result of years of research, working closely with Kiwi farmers to design products that are hard-wearing, reliable, and most importantly, help keep them safe.

Quad & side-by-side safety: what WorkSafe expects
WorkSafe's message is simple: manage the risks, and get home at the end of the day.  Farm businesses have been fined for not doing it.

  • Helmets on quads and side-by-sides, every ride
  • Seatbelts worn whenever they're fitted
  • A crush protection device (CPD) on quads used for work — one that suits the bike and is fitted to the maker's instructions
  • Stay within the manufacturer's limits — loads, towing, passengers, terrain
  • Check before you ride — tyres, brakes, steering, load, CPD mounts. Found a fault? Park it until it's fixed
  • Kids — no under-16s on adult quads or driving side-by-sides. No passengers on quads

Around five people die on New Zealand farms every year in quad incidents - most in rollovers.
