The LifeGuard is a flexible arc, commonly known as a Roll Bar, CPD (crush protection device) or OPD (operator protection device), that mounts on the rear carrier of a quad bike (or ATV), providing space under an upturned quad in the event of a rollover.
The LifeGuard is unique in the fact that it is flexible and absorbs impact, and because of its passive nature, there is a lot less chance of injury being inflicted on the rider by the unit itself. The LifeGuard is a world first in quad bike safety – designed to save lives and prevent major injury, and it works.
It is made from an aluminium base with plastic segments held together by strong cables which then form an arc. This is tensioned to the correct torque setting, then a neoprene cover is fitted to help protect the rider and the LifeGuard itself.
